On Saturday, a beautiful fall day in Buenos Aires, Argentina, thousands upon thousands of faithful Argentinos descended upon Plaza San Martin to watch the 2010 World Cup Quarterfinal match against powerhouse Germany. The mood was incredible until....well the 2nd minute of play when Germany began its romp. Finishing 4-0 to knock Argentina out of the tournament, Germany dominated from the get go. Unfortunately for me it was the only match I got to see in one of these large public viewing parties, but I'm glad I went. I have here a bunch of photos and videos to give you all a sense of the experience, I can only imagine how cool it must have been when they were winning. Damn that pyschic octopus to hell !
More videos to come later, YouTube is working slow...
I saw this guy sitting on his motorcycle outside of a club with a couple girls drinking champagne and couldn't believe my eyes that he had an A's jacket so I went up and asked if I could take a picture. I explained to him how weird it was to see anything A's related down here and he just laughed, he had no idea who they were nor that they were a baseball team.
On another sports note, what an effort by our boys in South Africa! Shame when a bad call changes a game, all we can do is focus on Algeria!
Well I've already given you guys a video-tour of my new apartment here in Palermo, so now I'd like to show some pictures of the neighborhood to give you all a good sense of what it looks like to walk around in my shoes!
A good friend of mine here, Adrian Gross, started a t-shirt company (Estampate) a while back so the idea of doing some photos to promote it sprung to mind. One of the most popular shirts they have designed is one that says "Let's Get Weird" in huge, bold lettering. What the meaning of "Getting Weird" is is up to you. Check out these pictures to see how we got weird in the beautiful Bosques de Palermo parks of Buenos Aires! All pics here! Join the fanpage too by clicking "like".
